6 POWERFUL Bible Verses on Health and Healing

Jesus began His work by breaking Satan's power over the suffering. He restored the sick to health, gave sight to the blind, and healed the lame, causing them to leap for joy and to glorify God. He restored to health those who had been infirm and bound by Satan's cruel power many years. With gracious words He comforted the weak, the trembling, and the desponding. The feeble, suffering ones whom Satan held in triumph, Jesus wrenched from his grasp, bringing to them soundness of body and great joy and happiness...The life of Christ was filled with words and acts of benevolence, sympathy, and love. He was ever attentive to listen to and relieve the woes of those who came to Him. [1]

Here are 6 Powerful Bible verses on health and healing that will help you get through your illness:

1. FOLLOW GOD'S PRINCIPLES in moral & physical health and He promises to heal.

"If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee." - Exodus 15:26 KJV

2. SPEAK TO GOD IN ASSURANCE of His healing & offer praises as if it has been done.

"Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise." - Jeremiah 17:14 KJV

3. THE LORD IS READY TO FORGIVE & RESTORE.

"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Give hear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplication. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me." - Psalm 86:5-7 KJV

4. YOU MUST BELIEVE.
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." - Mark 9:23 KJV

(For further reading see Mark 5:36)

5. GO FOWARD IN HEALTH.

"Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." - John 5:14 KJV

In the natural world, we associate sin with the spiritual only.  But here we see that the Great Physician in admonishing the man he had just healed to go forward, saying, now that you have been healed - "made whole", go and "SIN no more" - uniting physical sickness and spiritual sickness.  This is because there is a close relation between the two; for the violation of the laws of our well being impacts our perception of spiritual things.  Christ wishes that the two are well nourished.

6. Share the BLESSING OF HEALING you received.

"Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel." - Mark 5:19-20 KJV

BUT what if after doing all of this I am still not healed?

This is the question that will help foster our doubts.  You see, while we are doing all of the above, we must be submissive to God's will.  Sometimes the LORD will not allow for healing because He knows what is best.  And as we cannot see the end from the beginning, we can find peace in trusting Him.

Lazarus was Jesus' best friend who was sick and died.  But the Bible tells us that his death was for the glory of God. (see John 11:2-4, 14 KJV) - Our Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer knows what is best.  Do your best and trust Him.
